Ravina, the head of Youth Assembly(YA) is a devoted and honest person. She is very sincere in the work she does and learns to do the work to her best capability even if she does not know how to.
The Co-Head is the person whom the Head and the team can always rely upon. A member od VIRTUAL GSMUN 2020. He manages the team and notes down the important data discussed in the meetings which can be used in the future. He is like the nerves that transfer messages from the head to the team members .
I feel privileged to stand in front of you as the Chairperson of the Youth Assembly to voice out openly the two pressing needs of the community drawing the strength from the UN Youth Assembly of 24 August 1949. Our discussions revolve around mainly two themes i) The measures to reduce indoctrination of youth in terrorist activities and
ii) dealing with misinformation and its impact on society
The young and energetic delegates representing many countries formulated this year’s
GSMUN Youth Assembly topics .
Irrespective of the doctrines that people follow – be it political, religious, geographical – many people fall into it for many reasons ranging from belief systems , financial burden, family pressure etc. The youth’s vital energy could be used for nation building , peace making process which is being channeled into hatred . With the explosion of technology , thoughts are immediately translated into words and have the potency to do a lot of damage . This brings me to my point about the importance of social media that cannot be ignored. The current pandemic of Covid 19, has opened another venue of misinformation from vaccine production to the quack non medical procedures that cure C 19 . We live in a post truth world that is built on appeals to people’s emotions rather than their sense of rationality and this in turn can bring about societal chaos.
With all the media peripherals at our disposal, are we getting the right information? It is one of the key queries raised by the committee and we need to discuss it thoroughly .
The committee seeks to identify the cause and effect mechanisms that control the flow of misinformation and how these problems can be dealt with most effectively. There is no better place to find these answers than in our very own mind. We, the youth, with our fresh minds ready for innovation, are capable of dealing with any crisis that crosses our paths. So here I am, excited to witness the heated discussion and debates produced from the brains of our young delegates, wishing everyone a very lively GSMUN 2020.
Thank you.
This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
