There are children all around the world waking up every morning to see
what a drug fiend his/her parents have become. Some people work for
their profit by endangering million folds of lives via terrorism and the
funding of such notorious activities.
United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime- the committee acting as an apex
body to tackle issues related to drugs and crime all around the world.
It is the fundamental pillar of a comprehensive drug control strategy and is
regarded to be the principle method utilized by Member States and UNODC
to address illicit drug crop cultivation.
The two topics held up for effective discussions during the course of
GSMUN 2020 include:
1. The threat of organized crime and piracy near Latin American countries.
2. Preventing an increase in trafficking of unauthorized medical products in
rural and urban settings.
Drug, arms, contraband, human trafficking make organised crime among
the most powerful, wealthiest and deadliest non-state problems in the
world, especially in Latin America. Organized crime uses corruption,
intimidation, political influences and outright armed control of territory.
Piracy is an illegal activity that usually results from economic and
governmental problems. The state's abandonment or the little presence of
the State empowers criminal groups that operate in the continent and in
maritime territory.
Substandard and falsified medical products may cause harm to patients
and fail to treat the diseases for which they were intended. These lead to
loss of confidence in medicines, healthcare providers and health systems.
They can be found in illegal street markets, via unregulated websites
through to pharmacies, clinics and hospitals. An estimated 1 in 10 medical
products in low- and middle-income countries is substandard or falsified.
200,000 people die worldwide due to ingesting drugs. Fewer than one in
five who need treatment actually receive it. The UNODC is dedicated to turn
these statistics around.
Chaired by the Head- Denize D’Souza with 20 delegates representing 18
countries and 1 organization of the United Nations. UNODC is primped and
primed to deliver worthwhile resolutions in promoting the theme’
Responsible Vision, Action and Governance for Peace and Planet’.
Thank you and let’s play a part in retrieving the world from the crimes it
has fallen into.
This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
