A very good morning to one and all present here.
Founded in 2006, the UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL(UNHRC) is a body whose mission is to protect and promote human rights around the world. 47 members of the UNHRC strive to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another foreign area and. It is not only responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of thematic human rights throughout the globe but also addresses the situations of human rights violations and makes recommendations on them.
Today, one in every 50 human beings is either a migrant worker, a refugee, an asylum seeker, or an immigrant living in a foreign country. As Governments grapple with the new realities of their multi-ethnic communities, there has been a significant rise in discrimination and violence directed against migrants, refugees and other non-nationals by extremist groups in many parts of the world and the general population is suppressed from the right of speech and expression.
The main issues tackled during this year’s GSMUN by our committee are:-
-Eradicating systematic xenophobia and religious or ethnic discrimination on a global scale and censorship and violation of the right to freedom of expression f;ls’’eddesw3aced by the general population.
In the recent past these topics have forged their way up and are rampant. Every person not belonging to a certain place feels left out and stereotypes of specific castes and cultures create immense disturbance to victims of these xenophobic attacks. And with the rapid increase in the use of technology especially during the pandemic, censorship and right of expression through media and other platforms have been suppressed.
The denial for the right for speech, prejudice, and discrimination are extremely vulnerable sujects; therefore being precarious and sensitive affairs, with quite a few practice sessions and ample time to research, the delegates seem prepared to debate on the topics with the knowledge gained by them over the span of the past few days.
The committee intends to carefully and strategically tackle the problems at hand, coming up with the best possible solutions, benefiting the community as a whole.
On behalf of the chair, I would like to wish the delegates all the very best.
Thank you.
This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
